Dick Bobnick Dick Bobnick has been a successful illustrator and portrait artist for over forty five years. His versatility in creating portrait montages of famous celebrities, action-adventure illustrations, sports, historical and religious personages and glamour pinups keeps his work in demand by national corporations, advertising agencies and publishers of book, magazines and collectables.

Over the years Dick has created illustrations for the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, the Franklin Mint, General Mills Burger King, the 3M Company, Barbour Publishing, the U.S. Army, the Grand Ol' Opry, Editor-Publisher magazine, Elvis Presley Enterprises, AT&T, the United States Historical Society, the Minnesota Orchestral Association, Sony Corporation, Pillsbury Company and Art Instruction Schools, Inc. Dick also created three presidential portraits of Ronald Reagan, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln for national ads in U.S.A. Today heralding president Reagan;s second inaugural. Dick also created the award winning portrait of Marilyn Monroe for the special collectors' edition of Joyce Carole Oates' novel BLONDE, the official portrait of legendary golfer Sam Snead for the Professional Golf Association's Hall Of Fame, and U.S. postage stamp potraits of Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Pete Fountain and numerous sports legends.

Throughout his career Dick has been the recipient of many local, regional and national Art Directors awards as well as recognition and awards in national illustration exhibitions and competitions.

After 20 years as lead illustrator at four major Minneapolis graphic arts studios Dick went on his own in 1990 as a freelance illustrator and opened his own studio in Bloomington, Minnesota, in order to pursue his specialties, celebrity portraiture, sports, book covers and film and television
show art. He created a 50th anniversary painting commemorating the Normandy Invasion for the United States Historical Society which was produced and marketed worldwide to all U.S. armed forces personnel. He also produced award winning collector plate series for the Franklin Mint honoring the James Bond film series and the GUNSMOKE television series. In 1997 Dick was commissioned to create a portrait of Mother Teresa of Calcutta,the Roman Catholic nun, international humanitarian and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. It was produced as an Heirloom Collector plate and marketed worldwide. Dick's art took a different turn in 2004 when he was commissioned to create a series of seven glamour pinup illustrations to promote Camel cigarettes new flavored variety for a national campaign in magazines and variety stores. In 2009 Dick was honored with the Famous Alumni Award by Art Instruction Schools, Inc., the famous correspondence art school.
